Wonder Woman #146, #150

The covers to Wonder Woman comics are notorious for their bondage images. Wonder Woman is almost always tied up and facing some menace. This type of comic book cover is a sub-genre for collectors. It may be the damsel in distress that is the more common theme; but it is not very difficult to also find a male character bound and in peril on a comic book cover.

Being trapped and in danger is a standard theme for a comic book cover. I had never even thought about the bondage label until a few years ago, when I noticed that the Overstreet Guide makes a point to note these covers in their price guide listings. Sometimes the definition of bondage is a bit loose and just being confined against one's will. I also notice that the Overstreet Guide no longer makes that special note about bondage.
