One consistent element in the art I have done since I was a boy is monsters.

Adventures into the Unknown #148
This fellow in "The Most Ordinary Man on Earth", from ACG's 1964 April-May issue of Adventures into the Unknown #148, has a definite Herbie Popnicker vibe … the seemingly average, or below average, individual possessing hidden powers or abilities.
Yep, definitely a Herbie vibe there! I guess by '64 editor Hughes, writing as Shane O'Shea, was running out of ideas. This is also the first and only time I have ever seen a Whitney story inked by anyone else.

It is was also interesting to see Whitney's earlier, more fully rendered style, recently over at The Horrors of it All.
