Spooky the Tuff Little ghost 78
Spooky promises a diamond necklace to his gal, Poil, as he gets mixed up with Uncle Safari to look for treasure in 1964's "The Lost Jewels." I will guess this art is by Howie Post; but it doesn't have the high degree of craziness found in some of his art. The inking here is a bit smoother also; but the cartoony Gollywonks make me think it was Post who drew this story.

Christmas Never Seen
As a typical American, I am almost entirely only aware of the comics, cartoonists and their images from the USA.When I see some of the great monster related things from other countries I wonder, "What have I been missing?"

PonyTail: Monster Mash
Here is a story from Dell Comics PonyTail # 10, April-June 1965. The story-line seems very familiar if you have ever watched any of the comedy haunted house movies like Ghost Breakers or The Ghost and Mr. Chicken or many, many others. The old formula is always fun.Lee Holley is the artist on this comic book series, based on his syndicated feature. He has a nice energetic and free style which reminded me of Hank Ketcham. It makes sense -he was a Ketcham assistent from '56-'60.

Adventures into the Unknown #148
This fellow in "The Most Ordinary Man on Earth", from ACG's 1964 April-May issue of Adventures into the Unknown #148, has a definite Herbie Popnicker vibe … the seemingly average, or below average, individual possessing hidden powers or abilities.
