The Bigfoot Monkey Suit

If you are following the Georgia Bigfoot news, here is a link to the latest on YouTube. The BBC has also reported on the recent claims about the Bigfoot carcass.

I don't think anyone was surprised at the story being exposed as a hoax. The surprise is that so many people wanted it to be true and at how successful the hoaxers were at getting worldwide publicity. There are more people in the world thinking about strange creatures than you thought there were. Bigfoot has escaped once again.

it was all in good fun, though, right?

I don't think it was just for fun. I get the impression it was about taking advantage and making a profit from a deliberate hoax. It would be interesting to find out about the rumored $50K someone paid for the misrepresented frozen Bigfoot carcass. That would seem to point to fraud - depending on the agreement between the parties.

The cop is being fired, and I read the guys have disappeared and their voice mail says they're searching for "leprechauns and the Loch Ness monster." They couldn't have made enough money on such a brief/lame hoax to skip town?

By the way, is it just me, or does that sasquatch suit resemble Charlton Heston???
