Phoenix Mars Lander

I had completely forgotten about this happening today. As I was taking a break from work and flipping through some cable channels, I hit CNN as they were announcing the Phoenix Mars Lander's, so far, safe landing at one of Mars' intriguing polar regions.

Sometimes I can get lost in fantasy and daydreaming to long and forget that there are exciting "sci-fi" events happening in the real world.

Previous Mars landers have shown evidence that at some point Mars did have liquid water. It's polar regions are the best hope to find any existing water on Mars . One common need for life on Earth is water. Are there any Martians filling up their canteens?
