One consistent element in the art I have done since I was a boy is monsters.

Michael Rennie Aug,25, 1909
Today is Michael Rennie's birthday, 8/25/1909-6/10/1/71. He is probably best remembered for his role as Klaatu in the 1951 movie The Day the Earth Stood Still.
Comic book artists were notorious, back in the day, for using movie stills as drawing reference. I imagine, and only imagine, that Steve Ditko may have used Michael Rennie as a model for his drawing style while he was a student in New York City at The Cartoonists and Illustrator School, now the School of Visual Arts, during the early 1950s. I also have the fantasy notion that Rennie could have been cast perfectly as Ditko's Dr. Strange.
