Infant Melon Dragon: 2024 August

This month's dragon began as only one of those pups. I had some extra time and began building a full scene around that once lonely pup.

The word prompts for this dragon were infant and melon. Instead of watermelon or honey dew melon, I decided to base the dragons on a bitter melon texture. The next time you are in an Asian restaurant, ask them if they have bitter melon ( also known as bitter gourd, foo qua, fu qua, or goya and probably even more names.) It is an acquired taste but said to be very healthy.

I like bitter melon with scrambled eggs, a bit of salt, and chili oil.
