Copper Frog Dragon

 I was looking for a dragon name to put on the imaginary coin. A site with dragon names I visited listed "Smoug" as a name. I thought everyone would know that was a famous literary dragon's name. After I had already finished the art, I double checked the spelling of the character from Tolkien's 1937 novel, The Hobbit. Oh well! I guess we should trust Smoug, Smaug's cousin.

Smoldering Singing Paper Dragon

 Once a month, the illustrator, writer David Petersen (Mouse Guard books) hosts a draw-a-long on his Twitch stream and Discord channels. If I have the time, I always enjoy just having fun and trying new things with making art.

It looks like you missed your chance to get something from the pie stand Cookie Monster and Grover set up this Autumn. Maybe, they had originally thought about making a profit from their creations, but cooking is a lot of work that requires keeping up your energy. Grover also seems to know that a little rest can be beneficial.

I haven’t tested the strength of my dental work by chewing any bubble gum in a couple of decades.  As a kid, it seemed that it was not too difficult to find a cube, in various progressions of hardness, of Bazooka Joe in a pants or jacket pocket.

A unique feature of Topp’s Bazooka Joe was the bubble gum’s wrapping papers that had a comic strip printed on them. Even as a child, the gags were not very funny, but I still always read them. I made a CookieDoodle in a similar style to those old bubble gum wrappers.

Originally, I wanted to use the title for this Cookie Monster version of bubble gum “Bazookie Monster.” I Googled “bazookie” just to check if that word had some meaning. It turned out “bazookia” is a hybrid strain of marijuana, a hybrid of Bubblegum and Girl Scout Cookie strains. I guess another type of wrapping paper would be used there.
