The Whale, 60x72, 1987• For many peoples it's the music of the Beatles that can transport them back into the sixties. For me, it is Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. I don't remember buying a Beatles album back then; but I did buy several Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass LPs. The Tijuana Brass' pop sound is stuck in that decade. I didn't take them with me when I left the 60's, like I did the song of the Beatles.
I hadn't listen to the Tijuana Brass in many, many years until recently when I heard the Bert Bacharach, Tijuana Brass theme to the 1967 version of the James Bond movie Casino Royal. When I heard that sound it was like a light clicking on over a pathway back in time.
It seems, like many artists, Herb Alpert is interested in more than one form of personal expression. Take a look at his paintings.

I'm not sure if those solvent based Magic Markers are legal any more.
